ERIC KAUFFMAN has been at UAHS for many years. He previously spent 2 years teaching choral music in Orlando Florida, 2 years at Hastings Middle School, and has been at UAHS ever since.

A graduate of Columbus South High School, he attended Bowling Green State University where he received his bachelors and masters degree in choral and vocal music education under the mentoring of R.D. Mathey.

Locally, Eric has served as the director of the Singing Buckeyes Barbershop Chorus, the Otterbein College Men's Glee Club, and the chancel choir director at Worthington United Methodist Church. Eric was the guest conductor at the Fairfield County Junior High Honors Chorus and the OMEA District III High School Honors Chorus.

Eric's groups have consistently received superior ratings at district and state adjudicated events. He is a past recipient of the Golden Apple Award presented by the Upper Arlington Civic Association for "outstanding excellence in education".

Eric maintains memberships in the Ohio Music Education Association, Ohio Choral Directors Association, where he serves as the South Central Regional Chair, and The American Choral Directors Association.

Eric has coached baseball at various levels and directs and produces our annual Broadway style musical.

AMY LEACOCK, Assistant Director and Accompanist

AMY LEACOCK graduated from BGSU with a degree in vocal music education and is a director and accompanist for the UAHS choral department. Ms. Leacock also teaches 8th Grade Choir at Hastings Middle School.

Her previous experiences include one year at Jones Middle School, ten years at Arbor Hills Junior High in Sylvania, OH and two years at Pleasant View School for The Arts in North Canton, OH.

Ms. Leacock is a certified adjudicator through the Ohio Music Educator's Association. She served as the Chancel and Treble Choir director at the Sylvania United Church of Christ for four years, and she sings in the Sweet Adeline chorus the Scioto Valley Chorus. She was the baritone of the 2009 International Championship Sweet Adeline quartet Moxie Ladies!

Amy sang jingles and commercials in Toledo for five years; the old WNCI jingles were sung by her group. She is in demand as a clinician for Sweet Adelines' Young Women in Harmony and travels throughout the US for camps and clinics.

Amy's musical theater experiences include: stage directing, music directing, choreographer, pit player, pit director, and actress in countless musicals. She runs a Musical Theatre camp in the summer at Muskingum University.

She and her husband Chris are the proud parents of two daughters: McKenzie and Ava.
